Babies and Toddlers
We understand how important it is that your little ones have a safe and happy time on your holiday so that you are able to truly relax. We have tried to think of everything to make sure that you can arrive worry-free, with space to breathe in the car on the journey, and knowing that there will be endless on-site entertainment for little people with a lot of energy.
If you'd like to ask anything at all about our facilities or would like to know which cottage might be most suitable for your family, please don't hesitate to give us a ring any time.
Equipment for you to borrow
They may be small, but they need a lot of stuff! We can lend the following useful bits of equipment to give you more space in the car:
- Bed guards
- Stair gates (many of our cottages have these built-in)
- Loo seats
- Lightweight pushchair
- Microwave sterliser
- Changing mat
- Baby bath
- Plastic crockery
- Nappy bin
We have limited numbers of some of these items, and they are on a first come first serve basis so please let us know if you require these items during your stay as soon as possible.
Playtime for little ones
From hand-feeding the goats and collecting eggs to 'making lunch' in one of the playhouses; from pony rides to splashing in the toddlers' pool, little ones will be in heaven at Treworgey. We know from personal experience that if they're happy, you're happy!
Every week day morning, children of all ages can have a glorious time feeding the friendly ducks, chickens, goats, pig, guinea pigs and rabbits. They can stroke the rabbits and guinea pigs, scratch the pig's back and in spring they can often help bottle feed a lamb. Very little children are most welcome and will be able to get whole-heartedly involved, along with their mums or dads!
There is masses to do for young children at Treworgey, including:
- Our soft play room adjoins the information room where you can enjoy a cuppa and the view from a comfy sofa while the little ones play.
- The Indoor Beach is a barn with fantastic mechanical sand play, big climbing frame, slide, giant lego and more.
- Our warm, shallow 'toddler's pool', separated by a safety barrier from the main pool. Water toys available to borrow by the pool.
- Outdoor play, including sand pits with mechanical systems for moving sand and water about, slide, wendy house and ride-on tractors
- Indoor play, including our popular wendy house with a kitchen with all the mod-cons and cleaning trolley. There are also books and toys with soft places to sit and a fantastic Brillo train set ready to play with.
We have put together several special craft boxes full of materials for budding young artists that you can take from the playroom back to your cottage. Just pop them back in the playroom when you've finished.
Children of any age can go for a ride on one of our kind-natured ponies along a beautiful Cornish lane. In 2020 children under 5 can also join our free Trotting Tots Club once a week from May to October (excluding school holidays). See our riding page to book pony rides and let our office know if you'd like to book onto Trotting Tots.
If you'd like an evening out without the smaller family members, we can book one of our very well known and trusted babysitters to come to your cottage to look after them. Please ask us for current rates.
