Here at Treworgey we've got pony clubs, forest school, a bat hunt and a pumpkin carving competition to keep our younger half term guests busy. 

However, after all the trick-or-treating your kids may have done all that and still be bouncing off the walls, so have a look below for ideas on local half term activities to make sure your small people are snoring sweetly by 7pm, leaving you free to put your feet up with a glass of wine in front of the fire!

Get your boots on for beavers! It’s time to walk for wildlife and show you care about the nature and climate crisis with The Wildlife Trusts’ Big Wild Walk.


29th- 31st October- The Great Cucurbit Carving Competition at Lost Gardens of Heligan, PL26 6EN (1 hour).

A pumpkin is the traditional vegetable to carve, but here at Heligan we grow so many more members of the cucurbit family and would love to see what else you can carve and create this October.


23rd -24th October- Autumn Impressions at Wheal Martyn, PL26 8XG (40 mins).

Forage for stones, feathers, fallen flowers and leaves and impress them into the clay to make fun autumnal patterns.


25th October- Piskie making workshop at Wheal Martyn, PL26 8XG (40 mins).

In this workshop, you will hear stories about the different kinds of Cornish piskies and make your own to take home with you!


25th October- Choose Nature Family Forest School at Wheal Martyn, PL26 8XG (40 mins).

Join Choose Nature CIC in the woods at Wheal Martyn for a variety of exciting outdoor activities.


26th- 29th October- Halloween Hijinks at Wheal Martyn, PL26 8XG (40 mins).

Visit Wheal Martyn during Half term week to enjoy a range of activities such as painting spooky ceramics, spider web weaving, decorating pumpkin faces and candy basket making!


23rd- 31st October- Halloween trail and haunted hollow at Tamar Trails, PL19 8JE (45 mins).

Follow spooky clues through the woods, spot haunting figures and scary sights as you go. (booking essential)

Join us for our biggest PUMPKIN FEST yet! We have plenty of family fun from pumpkin picking in our 10 acre patch, pumpkin carving, Magic Martin entertaining all day, pumpkin maize maze and much, much more!


30th October 6pm- Halloween Maze of Horrors at Cornish Maze Maize, PL12 6RZ (30 mins).
