River Barn
3 Bedrooms for 6 people (plus cots)
Saturday Changeover
River Barn is one of the oldest buildings at Treworgey and dates back to the original Manor. It became our greatest conversion challenge yet: to maintain the great character of the building, whilst making it as environmentally friendly as possible.
The downstairs is under-floor heated and has local oak beams above. The entrance hall leads to a big, fully-equipped kitchen with an old pine dresser and a farmhouse table. There is a downstairs shower room and a spacious sitting room with a big elevated table, colourful wool rugs, antiques, leather sofas, arm chairs, freeview smart TV, bluetooth speaker and a wide inglenook fireplace housing a glass-fronted wood burner
Upstairs the oak landing leads to three double bedrooms. Two bedrooms have bathrooms next-door with bath and separate shower. All bedrooms have antiques, wool rugs, oak beams, (including the magnificent pegged roof trusses) and oak floors. One bedroom has a king-size brass bed. The other two have zip-and-links, providing full flexibility for either twins or king-size doubles.
Both the cottage and the large, secluded suntrap garden, have fabulous views down the valley to the river below.
