Best places for breakfast

Duchy Nursery Cafe

Duchy Nursery, Cott Road, Lostiwthiel  PL22 OHW (25 mins)

There’s a warm welcome for everyone, and food is prepared fresh every day.

Look out to Restormel Castle from the covered terrace, or sit inside their award-winning café and choose from the normal Breakfast Menu or Breakfast Royale Menu (perfect for celebrations, special occasions or just a very special treat)

Served until 11.15 am, 11 am on Sundays.  Open at 9 am.

 Olive and Co at Sibleyback

Olive & Co, Sibleyback Lake, St Cleer, Liskeard  PL14 6ER  (30 mins)

An independent cafe serving delicious award-winning

home-made food, cake and gourmet tea & coffee and well worth the visit.   One of my favourite places for breakfast, catering for all tastes including gluten free and vegan.  Dog friendly and a bonus is having the most enjoyable lakeside circular footpath, high up on the moors to walk off those guilty pleasures.

Open from 10 am weekdays, 9 am on weekends.  Breakfast stops at noon.

The Canteen, Maker Heights, The Nissen Huts, Millbrook  PL10 1LA (35 mins)

This is a family run business with the owner having a River Cottage background, focusing on locally sourced produce and ever-changing varied menu.

Open from 9.30 am Tuesdays to Sundays.  Phone 01752 659069

 Talland Bay hotel breakfast

Talland Bay Hotel, Porthallow  PL13 2JB  (10 mins)

Situated on the coast, you’ll find the most magical and quirky hotel with breathtaking sea views.  They have only recently opened up to non-residents for breakfast and what a treat awaits!   Their scrummy £22 per person non-resident breakfast is served from 8 – 10 am.  Booking is required at least 24 hours in advance for unlimited tea, coffee, pastries and one cooked breakfast dish.

Penhale Pantry, North Penhale Farm, Dobwalls, Liskeard  PL14 4LT (10 mins)

Just up the lane from us at Dobwalls and open Wednesday to Sunday from 10 am.  Breakfast is served until noon, featuring Cornish coffee and their signature toasties.  They provide and serve quality produce with low food miles and have their own farm shop on site too.  Well worth a browse.

 The Kiosk, Hannafore  PL13 2DJ  (10 mins)

Homemade food and stunning seaside views are on offer here and include an incredible choice to tempt your breakfast taste buds.  Wrap up warm if it’s cool as seating is alfresco.  Their only closing day during the year is Christmas Day!

"This is our second visit (first in Jasmine). It is a wonderful place. Our daughter has spent much of her time sitting in the conservatory revising and she has appreciated the view. We all feel relaxed and almost ready to return to work & school. Thanks again"
