The coronation of His Majesty King Charles III alongside The Queen Consort takes place at Westminster Abbey on Saturday 6th May.
Whether you are a royalist or not, there is no denying this is an historic event and a great opportunity for a celebration! We have put together a list of local events that will be happening in honour of the occasion. Here at Treworgey the bunting will be up and we will be creating a Coronation Trail around Treworgey for kids, with treats for those who complete it.
6th May 12-4pm –Celebration Garden Party at Lost Garden of Heligan, PL26 6EN (55 mins)
They will be streaming the ceremony live in a 3.4m outdoor screen at the steward's house lawn and BBQ, with additional screens to watch the proceedings in heligan kitchen and stewards house. Following the ceremony they will be joined by Les Femmes de la Mer, an inspirational group of singers from across Cornwall. The chefs at Heligan will also be preparing special menus with themes from across the Commonwealth. Tickets are £5 per person and has been factored into the pre-booked ticket prices for the day. Children under 16 are free.
6th May 5-8pm –Coronation Garden Party at Fowey Hall, PL23 1ET (40 mins)
The team at Fowey Hall will be offering a range of activities and games for all the family to enjoy. There will be a barbecue offering a variety of options for you to purchase additionally. Adults £10 and children free of charge.
6th-8th May – Coronation Weekend at Eden at The Eden Project, PL24 2SG (45 mins)
There will be a weekend of celebrations to include talks and music. There will also be a big screen live broadcast of the coronation ceremony on Saturday 6th May to include a coronation big lunch. Exclusively for this weekend they will be offering free entry for aged 25 and under

6th May –Coronation Live Screening at Anthony Hall, PL11 3AB (25 mins)
They are screening the service in the hall with a buffet lunch, children’s activities and commemorative mugs being donated to all those 16 and under.
7th May 2-5pm –Polperro Community Coronation Big Lunch at The Big Green, PL13 2QT (15 mins)
Lunch commences at 2pm (9.30-11am deliver food and set up tables), the lunch is then followed by local drama group performance at 3pm after this there is a Coronation quiz and then the afternoon rounds up with a best dressed prize at 4.45pm.
8th May 12-4pm –King’s Coronation Garden Party at Boconnoc Estate, PL22 0RG (30 mins)
There will be live music, bring your own picnic or pre-purchase the Coronation Cream Tea, an outside bar, fun lawn games, ice cream, table tennis, croquet, face painting, 3-legged-race, egg and spoon race and you can make your own flower crown. Adult tickets are priced at £7.50, children 6-16 years old £4.00 and 5’s and under go free.
