Read on for our pick of local events this spring. These really make the most of the spectacular floral displays that Cornwall offers at this time of year, with plenty for little people as well as grown-ups!

2nd April 10-5pm- Spring Flower Show at The Royal Cornwall Showground,PL27 7JE (50mins)
Described by the Telegraph as the “Chelsea of the West” the Cornwall Garden Society’s annual Spring Flower Show is a major highlight of the horticultural year. Tickets are £15.00 on the gate under 16’s are free.
9th April- 24th April 10-4pm (check different venues opening times)– Easter Adventures in Nature at Cotehele National Trust, PL17 6TA (30 mins), Anthony National Trust, PL11 2QA (30 mins) and Lanhydrock National Trust, PL30 4AB (30 mins)
At the start of your Easter adventures in nature trail, pick up your activity pack to find the bespoke trail you’re going to follow. Find and complete the 10 nature-inspired activities that are hiding along the way. Design a bug hotel, find spring time reflections and make a spring face are just some of the activities you can experience at Cotehele. £3.00 per child.
9th April- 24th April- Easter at Eden at The Eden Project, PL24 2SG (45 mins)
Collect your Easter activity pack, loaded with adventures for the whole family to help you explore the great outdoors and all the beautiful signs of spring. Alongside daily storytelling and an additional interactive show (must be booked additionally)
16th April 12pm-2pm- Seaton Beach Clean at Seaton Beach Cafe car park, PL11 3JQ (20 mins)
Come along and play a part in cleaning up the oceans. This is a free event but donations to Looe Marine Conservation Group are welcome.
17th April 12.30pm-2pm- Easter Rockpool Ramble at Hannafore Beach, meet below the coastguard station, PL13 2DL (10 mins)

19th April 6-7pm- Seagrass talk at Millpool Centre Looe PL13 2AF (10 mins)
Come along to find out about the secret superhero of the ocean, seagrass. This is a free event but donations to Looe Marine Conservation Group are welcome.
20th April 10-1pm and 1.30pm-4.30pm Spring at Siblyback Lake, PL14 6ER (20 mins)
Join South West Lakes’ Environment Rangers at Siblyback Lake on Wednesday 20 April for a fun-filled family day of Spring themed activities including woodwork, environmental art and a self-lead trail and much more. £3 per child and £2 per adult with all proceeds to go towards protecting and enhancing the south west's reservoir.
21st April 9am- 1pm- Children’s half day Cookery Course at Rick Steins Cookery School, PL28 8BY (1 hour).
The children will get to watch chefs demo three dishes then recreate each dish in pairs at their workstation enjoying each dish as you complete it. For children aged 8-12 years old £72.00 per child.

21st April, 5th May, 11th May and 26th May 5pm- 10.30pm- Farm Supper at Nancarrow Farm, TR4 9DQ (50 mins)
Set in the Oak Barn at Nancarrow Farm you will feast while enjoying a roaring fire and live music. The set menu includes three courses with farmhouse bread. The main course will be home-reared organic beef or lamb. Tickets are £45.00 each.
8th May 2-5pm- Open Gardens at South Bosent,PL14 4LX (15mins)
South Bosent is a developing wildlife haven. The land surrounding this old farmhouse has been planted to encourage wildlife; fruit trees, a wild flower meadow, and ponds all enrich the local ecosystem. Entry in £5.00 (cash only) there will also be a refreshments stall and an opportunity to plant trees. All proceeds to the Cornwall Wildlife Trust.
13th May 3.30pm and 7.30pm – Fisherman’s Friends at Minack Theatre, TR19 6JU (1hour 45 mins)
Cornwall’s most popular shanty group return to the Minack.
22nd May 2-5pm- Open Gardens at the Lodge, PL30 4AN (30mins)
The Lodge at Fletchers Bridge is a 3-acre riverside garden nestled in a tranquil valley. The Lodge specialises in trees and shrubs chosen for their flowers, foliage and form, including 35 magnolia varieties, numerous cornus, viburnums, paulownias, davidia and acers. Entry in £5.00 (cash only) there will also be a refreshments and plant stall. All proceeds to the Cornwall Wildlife Trust.
29th May 11-4pm- Open Gardens at Lethytep, PL13 2PG (20mins)
The stunning 52 acre wildlife haven, sheltered in Lanreath, comprises of wildflower meadows and three large ponds which are beloved by aquatic plants, birds and insects. Entry is £5.00 (cash only) there will also be a refreshments and plant stall. All proceeds to the Cornwall Wildlife Trust.
