Free pony clubs at treworgey this February half term

Both 1/2 term weeks - Free Pony Clubs at Treworgey exclusively for our guests - worth £60 per child!

 

10th –11th February – Snowdrop Weekend at Pencarrow House, PL30 3AG  (40 mins)

The gardens will be open for you to witness the first signs of Spring from 10-4 each day.

As well as Snowdrops there will be lots of other lovely flowers to see!  The Peacock Cafe will be open for light lunches and snacks.  Dogs welcome in the gardens.  This is a charity event and a suggested donation of £5 per person is recommended.

10th-18th February – Science Spectacular at The Eden Project, PL24 2SG (45 mins)

Visit Eden this February half-term to explore the weird and wonderful worlds of science and technology, and how they can help us build a better future. Packed with explosive science shows, amazing experiments and genius inventions.

10th February - Love Your Beach Day Clean At Seaton, Seaton Beach  (15 mins)

What better way to show your love for the beaches than to join their friendly group to clean Seaton Beach? All kit will be provided.  They ask that you come along in suitable clothing and footwear. Meet in the Seaton Beach Cafe carpark from 12 – 1.30 p.m.

  

 

11th February – Rockpool Ramble, Hannafore, Looe (10 mins)

Join in the first public rockpooling session of the year! At this event suitable for the whole family, we’ll explore the fascinating rocky shore and learn about the interesting animals and plants that call it home. Please wear suitable footwear and don’t bring nets as they can harm delicate sea creatures. Meet us below the coastguard station on Hannafore Beach from 12-1.30 p.m.  

Both the above events are free, tho donations are welcome.  Under 18’s need to bring an adult along!

13th February – Pancake Day!




14th-17th February – Joseph & His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat at Wadebridge School, PL27 6BU

7.30 p.m. with a 2.30 p.m. matinee on Saturday.  The well known tale of a dreamer performed by the Avalon Youth Theatre who are a volunteer-run musical theatre company in Wadebridge, made up from a wonderful troupe of children and teenagers in school years 4-12, who put on one musical every year, in the February half term.

science of the sea at The National Maritime Museum

10th-18th February – Science of the Sea at National Maritime Museum, Discovery Quay, Falmouth

Join in February Half Term Fun for Science of the Sea – family fun with a BANG! Learn where energy comes from and witness explosive experiments in science shows, get creative in Make & Take, and embark on a captivating Museum trail.  Shows at 11am, 12pm, 1.30pm and 3.30pm. Quieter sessions on Sundays at 11am.

Bodmin Railway teddy bear picnic

During February Half Term – Teddy Bears Picnic, Bodmin Wenford Railway, Harleigh Road, Bodmin PL31 1AQ (30 mins)

During February half term, the Station Master Teddy Bear will be walking through the train meeting and greeting! Teddy Bear colouring sheeting are provided and remember to take a picnic or pre-order when booking!  Purchase a half price child's ticket, if they bring along their teddy bear.

Godolphin House

February Half Term – National Trust :

10th-18th February – Godolphin, Godolphin Cross, Helston, Cornwall, TR13 9RE (1 hr 20)

Throw on those wellies and get into nature this February Half Term by becoming a Godolphin Countryside Explorer.  Explore the countryside surrounding Godolphin as you discover our orange route walk. Find activities on the way and get up close to nature. Plus enjoy crafts in the Cider House which will help you to get ready to welcome Spring.  Open 10-5, free event but normal admission charges apply.  Great for children.

11th February – 3rd March - Animal Aerobics at Trengwainton - Madron, near Penzance, Cornwall, TR20 8RZ (1 hr 35)

Garden, shop and cafe re-open on 11th February.  Spring into the new season with the Animal Aerobics Family Trail and spot the signs of new growth popping up all around the garden, while wriggling like a worm, hopping like a bunny or flapping like a bat!  Open 10-5, free event but normal admission applies.

10th-18th February – Signs of Spring at Trelissick House, Feock TR3 6QL (1 hr 5)

Explore the garden at Trelissick this February Half Term looking for signs of Spring as you go.   Open 10-4, free event but normal admission applies.

Even though our nearest National Trust houses at Lanhydrock and Cotehele remain closed over half term, the grounds and gardens will be open and a delight in early Spring bloom.  However, have you considered .....

12th-28th February – Cycle Hire at Lanhydrock House, Bodmin, PL30 4AB (30 mins)

The trails are free to use and of course, you are welcome to take your own bikes but should you wish to hire bikes, please email lanhydrockcyclehire@nationaltrust.org.uk, stating the preferred date and time of your ride, a contact telephone number and the height of each rider, or just the ages of riders if they are 10 and younger, also state whether you need a trailer, tag-along or child seat – Most of all, have fun!

For the fit amongst us, or those wishing to get fitter after the festivities of Christmas and New Year, the Lanhydrock Parkrun takes place every Saturday at 9 a.m.
